Tim Hardy's Story

Tim Hardy has been making best quality English leather goods for 30 years when having qualified at the famous Cordwainers College in London in 1983, he started his business from a small wooden shed in his parents’ back garden. Several changes over the years have resulted in The Worcestershire Leather Company which is the culmination three decades of work and is found here featuring his exclusive collection of bridle leather belts, wallets and luxury goods.

Beautiful top quality handmade English leather goods

Tim’s is well known for his skills in creating and making beautiful top quality handmade English leather goods, classic best quality handmade and hand stitched bridle leather belts, the famous Quick Release belt, bridle leather wallets and sought after Luxury goods. Over the years he was fortunate and very proud to supply and develope product ranges for Gieves & Hawkes, Dege, Purdey, Paolo Gucci, Denime, Nepenthes, Jay Kos, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and many others. A long list of esteemed private customers the World over have also enjoyed his products throughout this time but his desire now is to engage with the end user directly which has led him to offer these products exclusively and ‘made to order’ only from internet sales which are sent directly to the customer.

‘Working like this directly with my customer personally on a one to one basis is far more satisfying than filling a shop with products and waiting for the next order’ Tim says, ‘Better still, is knowing that the client can link back directly to me the maker when he or she uses my product, a link rarely found in this modern world.’

‘The success of the Mail order and internet business has prompted me to push further forward and launch this site which embraces the latest technology in a site designed to compliment and sit alongside the existing site at http://www.timhardy.com but be able to offer many more facilities such as secure shopping, own account option, special offers, order tracking and much more. It also enables me to expand the collections in a user friendly system with much better visibility. As a result I will be able to offer much more in the future and continue to produce our highest quality English Leather goods.

Making each bridle leather belt individually for the customer

I take great pride in making each bridle leather belt individually for the customer and as such maintain the core skills of our English manufacturing heritage whilst giving the client pleasure of ownership’ Tim says, ‘The responses I receive from customers give me a real buzz and prove that quality still exists in small companies such as mine. Rarely do I get a complaint but it can happen. More often than not I will get a call from a customer saying “I bought a belt from you 15 years ago and would like to get another as it’s starting to look a bit tired now”

Such compliments are hard to find in this modern age and by continuing these skills Tim and The Worcestershire Leather Company are doing their bit to rebel against the throwaway society and offer real Victorian quality and craftsmanship marketed by using 21st Century technology. This not only makes for pride in the products and designs but helps me with my commitment to environment by having minimal impact from production methods and also by sending products directly using minimal amounts of paperwork.’

The new e-commerce website from The Worcestershire Leather Company brings traditional craftsmen hand made products to the global marketplace via the world’s shopping mall and provides one to one bespoke top quality English leather goods direct to the customer.
